Invite the flow of energetic abundance move through your soul-aligned work
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
You have just mastered the art of tending money in business.
Not convinced?
Let’s take a step back in time.
Before money was minted, wealth had breath.
Literally.
It moved on hooves. It grazed and grew. It bled when wounded and birthed in season.
Wealth was not a number. It was a presence.
Yes. I’m talking cows.
You could argue that cows are still currency and you’d be right. We’ve built an entire controversial industry on them.
That’s why I took us back in time. To the very roots of our economics.
When wealth had a heartbeat.
And to have wealth was to tend life.
But not for the reasons we may think.
Cattle were a symbol of wealth and resources not because they were consumable, but because they could sustain. They stood at the heart of the small rural domain with their milk, warmth, movement, and rhythm.
Back to today and your business. My guess is that there isn’t any mooing happening in your office, or maybe even in your life.
And the energy of money might feel like holding your breath, waiting for the other shoe to drop, or saving for a rainy day.
The opposite of living and breathing.
That’s where Fehu comes in:
To breathe life back into the construct of money.
To help you tend your wealth as a living, breathing entity with a heartbeat, warmth, and rhythm.
Let’s talk about Fehu. Or the precursor Fe from the Vikings.
In the Elder Farthark system of Runes, Fehu is the rune of living wealth. It is the first letter in the oldest known runic alphabet and has the phonetic sound F.
As a symbol it stands for wealth, nourishment, mobility, fertility, first fire.
Interestingly, in Rune Poems (oral traditions from Norse, Anglo-Saxon, and Icelandic cultures), Fehu represents:
Fire (for its untamed nature)
Strife among kin (when hoarded or envied)
Responsibility (the call to tend wealth wisely)
It is said that Fehu gets its shape from the horns of the animal in question, though I haven’t ever met a cow with horns that look like those. (But who am I to judge someone’s artistic prowess? I draw stick figures.)
Anyway, the point here is Living Wealth.
Breathing Currency.
Moving money.
It can be wild and untamed. But when stagnant or misused leads to strife.
And that takes us back to you.
Wealth or finances or your bottom line is not about static accumulation, but about an energetic medium of exchange that flows, feeds, and forms the lifeblood of your business.
You, as the CEO, founder and owner of your business are the sacred tender of this lifeblood.
Fehu is wild, untamed, not linear.
It doesn’t rush to a finish line or scale for the sake of moving forward.
It breathes.
In. Pause. Out. Pause. Begin again.
It honors the natural spiral of your energy, your ideas, your creation. Sometimes you’re in a season of receiving: inhaling deeply, letting in new clients, letting your creations breathe, or letting money come in. Other times, you’re exhaling: offering your creations to the world, delivering your goods, letting something sacred move out of you and into a life of its own, or offering money to things that help you build.
Here’s where it really hits home.
In between the inhale and exhale is the pause.
The quiet space between where nothing seems to happen, but everything is.
This can feel like stagnation, a lack of flow, a death.
But this, too, is Fehu.
This space exists to keep us in check. To remind us that true wealth, like breath, is not in constant motion, it’s in perfect rhythm with all the right elements in place.
Without the inhale, you’d forget to receive.
Without the exhale, you’d never give.
Without the pause, you’d hyperventilate.
When we think of wealth as the moving breath through our business, the oxygenation factor in everything we do, we can begin to ask:
Is what I am building truly alive?
Is it rhythmic, cyclic, spiraling?
Is it offering life breath to others and oxygenating my blood, too?
Fehu invites you to Stop Now if you’ve been:
- Overgiving to the point of depletion
- Not following a cycle and a rhythm, but going full force constantly
- Hoarding ideas but never offering them as service to others
Stop now and return to the breath. Invite Fehu into your business, your wealth tending, your structure and framework.
Uncage the wildness of your business and embrace the natural breathing movement with depth and clarity.
Embodying Fehu looks like:
- Saying yes only when you’re ready to inhale
- Releasing your work only when pricing feels like a soft exhale
- Pausing to determine if your offers serve your clients and sustain your system at the same time
Fehu doesn’t ask: How much do you make?
It asks: Does what you give… feed you back? Is there movement, freedom and warmth to your wealth?
So we could leave it there, and some of you will, but if you’re up for it, let’s dive into practices to invite Fehu into your soul-aligned business to breathe life into your wealth.
Your Turn: Is Fehu Speaking to You?
Practice One: Reflect with Fehu
Here are a few invitations for pondering, journaling, or discussing with your team. Move through them gently. Let them land in the body, not the mind. Fehu may not shout.
But if you’re still. If you ask.
It will guide you to your truth.
1. What part of my business still breathes and what part am I keeping on life support out of fear or obligation?
This invites clarity around what is truly alive, nourishing, and cyclical… versus what feels forced, outdated, or extractive. Let your body answer before your brain does.
2. Where am I holding back from offering that which truly wants to move through me?
A mirror for not exhaling that which is ready to be released, whether from fear, distraction or simply not listening.
3. What would shift if I let my business move like breath? inhale (receive), exhale (offer), pause (rest) Instead of trying to push through every cycle?
This invites a reset of pace, a shift from constant output to attuned rhythm. It’s a doorway to rebuild your workflow, pricing, or launch style around your nervous system, not the market’s urgency.
Practice Two: Journey with Friends
You don’t have to walk with Fehu alone. It travels with good company.
Here are a few:
- The Ox (a slow, steady beast) The one with warmth, movement, rhythm. It offers power with deep roots, stability with mobility. It carries wealth in its bones and on its back.
- The Queen of Pentacles: Whether you find her in the tarot deck or on her own, this archetype knows what’s worth her time. She doesn’t hustle. She tends with focus and reverence.
- Moss Agate: This is the crystal of slow growth, grounded abundance, and grass roots prosperity. It restores the relationship to breath and soil.
When it speaks, it says: You belong to the land. You are not separate from its rhythm.
Put them together on your desk, print an image that incorporates the four or even call them in through your logo or content. When used together you have a full-body reminder:
You are allowed to move slowly and deliberately.
You are invited to grow sustainably.
You are reminded to breathe in rhythm.
And when you do, your work nourishes you as it nourishes others.
Practice Three: A Call To Fehu
This isn’t about manifesting. It’s about remembering.
Try this when you’re launching something new, adjusting your pricing, or feeling like you’re clutching or hoarding.
The Fehu Ritual
- Light one candle. Let it be small. The first flame of Fehu.
- Hold Moss Agate or your Queen of Pentacles image in your hand or in your mind
- Place a hand over your belly.
- Whisper:
“I tend what lives. I breathe life into that which I offer. I welcome the wealth that moves.”
Sit there. Just breathe. Let the flame and the object do their part.
Let your body speak. No pressure. No performance. Just presence.
To Bring Us Back Full Circle:
Whatever stage your soul-aligned business is in, wherever you are on the planet, however you define the word wealth, I invite you to return to the essence of economics.
Return with Fehu, not to the field with our mooing, cud-chewing friends, but to the breath, the lifeblood of your work.
True wealth doesn’t require us to hustle or hoard. It merely asks that we be present. We tend in rhythm, with reverence.
So if you’re wondering where to begin, start here.
Begin with the inhale that says yes, I receive.
Pause with the natural flow that says yes, I trust.
And allow the natural exhale that says yes, I offer.
Fehu reminds us that true wealth breathes.
Let wealth be breath.
Let your work feed you.
Let the first flame rise.
And trust that the rest will move, live, sustain.
